West Ham are in the quarter finals of the EFL Cup after a superb win over Chelsea on Wednesday night, winning the game 2-1.

The Hammers took the lead through Cheikhou Kouyate before the ever improving and impressive Edimilson Fernandes scored a fine goal from the edge of the area.

In truth it could have been more with the east Londoners never really looking threatened by their capital rivals despite Gary Cahill’s late, late consolation goal.

It was a performance that continued the club’s resurgence to last season’s form with one of their best attacking displays this campaign and it looks as though, now, the proper West Ham have arrived.

Slaven Bilic will have been very happy with what he saw and here are three things we learned from the game…
