West Ham United made two major moves to ensure that there was no fans’ violence at the London Stadium on Wednesday night, as reported by The Daily Star.

The Hammers have been having a tough time of it on the pitch in recent weeks and the frustration felt by the supporters spilled over in the team’s last home match against Watford.

Fan violence on the terraces threw West Ham into the public gaze for all the wrong reasons and was followed by condemnation from the club.

The London side faced League Two outfit Accrington Stanley at the London Stadium on Wednesday night, where measures were taken to avoid similar incidents to ten days ago.

An increased police presence was stationed at the game, while there was clear segregation between the home and away fans.

West Ham won the game 1-0 courtesy of a late Dimitri Payet free-kick and will now face Southampton at home in the Premier League this weekend.
