West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell has taken to social media to give an injury update, with good news that the Hammers left-back is on the mend.

The former Ipswich Town defender picked up a serious injury in pre-season that will keep him out of Premier League action for a number of months.

West Ham moved to find a replacement for Cresswell in the transfer market, signing Arthur Masuaku from Olympiakos in a £6 million deal.

The French full-back has looked capable in the early days of the new campaign but has been dropped in at the deep end as Slaven Bilic’s men struggle to cope defensively this term.

Cresswell is one of West Ham most important and influential players and his return would be a massive boost for a team in need of a boost.

Although the defender is still some way away from returning to first-team action, the latest post on Twitter shows that the star is back on the training pitch with a ball at his feet.
