West Ham United left-back has stated that he has been impressed with the man signed this summer to deputise for him, Arthur Masuaku.

The former Ipswich Town defender suffered a sickening knee injury in pre-season that will keep him out of Premier League action for a number of months.

As such, Slaven Bilic’s men were frantically in the market for a new player to feature in the first team while Cresswell is on the mend, with no natural option in the existing squad.

Masuaku was landed from Olympiakos in a reported £6million deal and has looked impressive in his early season outings for the east London club so far this season.

Cresswell has stated that the French full-back has done well so far in his time as a Hammer and that he has been impressed with the new signing.

“I hadn’t heard too much of Arthur but I think he’s done very well,” he told the club’s official website.

“He’s been one of the most consistent players of ours over the three games we’ve played and he looks a very good signing. The gaffer has done very well this transfer window with the signings he’s made.”

Although Masuaku has been a solid addition to the squad, the West Ham fans will be keen to see Cresswell back fit and in contention once more.
