West Ham United have submitted an approach to take Manchester City’s out-of-favour striker Wilfried Bony on loan for the season, according to The Daily Mail.

The Hammers are missing Andy Carroll and Andre Ayew currently due to knocks, with the important pair set to miss a considerable portion of the club’s Premier League campaign.

As such, Bony has been identified as a player that could well offer a proven solution to the London club int he short-term.

The Ivory Coast international forward has not been afforded many opportunities to play at the Etihad Stadium due to the presence of Sergio Aguero, while Kelechi Iheanacho is also ahead of the powerhouse striker in Pep Guardiola’s preferences.

Bony was a lethal goalscorer for Swansea City and if he could recreate this form for West Ham the club would have a dangerous addition option for Slaven Bilic to consider in the final third.
