Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has contacted West Ham equivalent Slaven Bilic to ask advice about Besiktas playmaker Oguzhan Ozyakup, according to Fanatik.
The gifted attacking midfielder has starred for club and country over recent seasons and has been linked with a move to the Premier League as a result.
Both United and West Ham are thought to be suitors of the playmaker, with Bilic a big fan of Ozyakup after managing him at Besiktas.
The latest statement suggests that Mourinho has personally contacted the Hammers boss to get more information on the Turkey international and ask for a reference on his abilities.
With United signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer, it remains to be seen where Ozyakup would fit in at Old Trafford, while West Ham are also loaded with attacking midfielders currently.
Bilic has already raided his former club to land Gokhan Tore this summer for the Hammers and a move for Ozyakup would now come as something of a surprise as a result.
