West Ham United sensation Reece Oxford has again been mentioned as a possible transfer target for Manchester United, with The Daily Mail claiming that Jose Mourinho has ordered his new employers to scout the prodigious defender.

The teenager made an immediate impression last term in his first campaign in senior football, making a number of cameo performances in Slaven Bilic’s side, including a stellar display in midfield in a 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Oxford is widely regarded as a bright prospect for the future, with many suggesting that he has all the attributes to be a future England international.

However, the 17-year-old’s future with the Hammers has come into some doubt, with the press suggesting that the youngster is holding out for a move to another English rival.

Mourinho has already made a number of high-profile signings since taking over at Old Trafford, with a potential £10 million move for Oxford again being touted.
