AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang has stated that he is committed to the Italian club and will not seek a transfer this summer, pouring cold water on a potential switch to West Ham.

The sprightly attacker has been mentioned as a possible target for a host of Premier League clubs, with the Hammers and Everton in particular touted as potential destinations for the forward earlier this summer.

Slaven Bilic’s men are in the market for new centre forwards and Niang is someone that looks able to excel in the physical Premier League.

However, despite the potential for a switch to the Olympic Stadium, the prodigious forward has committed himself to the Rossoneri.

“I have never talked about the transfer market and never thought about leaving,” Niang is quoted as saying by Calcio News 24.

“I’m a Milan player, I’m happy here and I will stay at Milan. I want to be an important part of this team.

“From the first day I got back, I have been speaking a lot with the coach. Now I know what I have to do if I am to become a champion.

“I am determined to listen to the coach. I must be good both on the field and off it. I realised the mistakes I’ve made and I must not repeat them.”

West Ham are looking for a proven striker that can guarantee them goals next season and as such Niang could well have been a replacement for Diafra Sakho or Enner Valencia, but is not the big name that the London club crave before the start of the new 2016-17 campaign.
