Roma have reportedly identified West Ham United centre-half Angelo Ogbonna as a new recruit this summer, with Calcio Mercato stating that the Serie A side are considering a bid for the Hammers defender.

The Italy international is currently in preparation for Euro 2016 after being selected in Antonio Conte’s squad for the competition in France.

Ogbonna moved to the Boleyn Ground from Juventus last summer and had an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League as Slaven Bilic’s men fought for a top-four finish.

The ex-Torino stalwart has this week been linked with both of the Manchester clubs, with a new suitor reported in his homeland.

Roma are believed to be considering a move for Ogbonna after German centre-half Antonio Rudiger suffered a serious injury – as such the Serie A side need cover before the start of next season.

West Ham will surely want to keep hold of the Italian, with the club stating publicly in the recent past that no major players will be sold this summer.
