Carlos Bacca’s agent has confirmed that AC Milan have rejected an approach for the striker from West Ham and that the player’s future will most likely not be sorted out until after the Copa America this summer.

The Hammers are in the market for a high-profile number nine and seemingly want to get their business done early so Slaven Bilic has more time with his new squad ahead of next term.

Bacca is the latest in a long line of strikers to be linked to the East London club, with the Premier League side believed to have tabled a £15 million offer for the Colombian’s services.

However, Sergio Barila has denied reports he was in London recently to conclude the deal with the Hammers and believes that his client’s future will not be decided any time soon.

“There was an offer last week from West Ham which was rejected so we must wait,” Barila told The Guardian.

“Carlos is very happy in Milan because it is a very big club and he has enjoyed his time there so far. But they will not play in European competition next season and that could be a problem.

“At the moment Carlos is training with the national team for the Copa America and it is likely we will have to wait for the new investors before anything can develop.”

West Ham have also been linked with the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Michy Batshuayi this summer in their striker search.
