West Ham United sensation Reece Oxford is stalling on signing a new contract with the club as he wants guarantees that he will play a role in Slaven Bilic’s first team in the near future, according to The Mirror.

The 17-year-old starlet is adjudged as one of the brightest young players in the English game and is being tipped to become a Hammers legend.

However, a host of Premier League rivals including Manchester City are being linked with a move for Oxford this summer as his future is up in the air.

As such, West Ham face a battle to keep hold of the versatile defender/midfielder and are trying to convince him to extend his current contract with the club.

However, the latest report suggests that Oxford will not sign a new deal with the London club unless he is given verbal reassurance that he will play regularly in the Premier League in the near future.
