West Ham United are not ready to give up on signing Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette and are set to increase their offer for the French forward, according to Goal.

It has been widely reported in the mainstream media that the Hammers have made a £31 million approach for the all-action attacker, but that the Ligue 1 side have turned the bid down.

The offer was already a potential club record transfer fee and as such it is being suggested that Slaven Bilic’s side may well look for more affordable alternatives.

However, the latest report suggests that the London club are set to increase their offer for the France international to £33 million in an effort to get Lyon to negotiate.

If West Ham have their hearts set on Lacazette, much will depend on whether the player wants a move to England and is willing to put subsequent pressure on the French club to allow him to leave the Stade de Gerland.
