Just a day after reports suggested that Michy Batshuayi would prefer a move to Tottenham over West Ham, the Irons have been handed a boost in the pursuit of another Ligue 1 hitman.

It’s no secret that the Hammers are after a quality striker this summer and one of the players that has been linked with the club is Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman was top scorer in the league last season and has scored 18 league goals in 31 appearances so far in 2015/16. He is attracting the interest from some of Europe’s top teams but there is one thing that could sway the deal West Ham’s way.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Lacazette will only move to a club where he knows he is guaranteed regular football. With West Ham keen to sign a striker to lead the line on a regular basis, a move to East London could be an attractive option for Lacazette.

L’Equipe are also claiming that West Ham have already made a bid for the 24-year-old forward. It is understandable that the Hammers are keen to sign the striker as early as possible as an impressive European Championships could up his price tag considerably.

West Ham are bound to face a host of competition for a striker of Lacazette’s quality but the fact that the club are moving for players of his quality suggests that next season could be an exciting one.
