West Ham are believed to be considering making an offer for Roma striker Edin Dzeko this summer according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, with the former Manchester City forward a potential marque signing.

The Hammers have identified a new dominant number nine as a priority in the upcoming transfer window that will help to improve the team before a move to the Olympic Stadium.

Dzeko is a former Bundesliga winner and was on City’s book for four years, scoring 50 Premier League goals in that time.

The presence of Sergio Aguero limited the Bosnian’s chances of playing at the Etihad Stadium and he left England to join Roma last summer.

His time in the Italian capital has not been without hiccups, with the Stadio Olimpico outfit supposedly willing to listen to offers for the striker this summer.

The 30-year-old has scored goals wherever he has played and would be an exciting addition for West Ham should they be able to reach a fee with the Serie A side.
