West Ham United have rejected the chance to sign Chelsea loanee Alexandre Pato according to The Telegraph.

The Brazil international is on a temporary deal at Stamford Bridge and is believed to be keen to stay in English football – but is unlikely to pen a permanent deal withe the Blues.

It has been reported that West Ham were given a chance to land Pato at a cost price, but have turned their attention to other targets and spurned the chance to sign him.

The former AC Milan attacker was adjudged as one of the world’s best during this time in Italy but has since suffered from injuries and dips in form.

Pato scored his first goal for Chelsea against Aston Villa recently but could not register as the outgoing champions were beaten 1-0 by Swansea at the weekend.

With Antonio Conte set to arrive as the West London club’s new manager in the summer, a host of new high-profile players are expected to arrive at Chelsea.

West Ham meanwhile will also bolster their ranks before moving to the Olympic Stadium.
