Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure could buy out the final year of his contract in order to facilitate an exit from the Etihad Stadium, according to The Express – which could allow West Ham to sign him on a free transfer.

The powerful Ivory Coast international is being tipped to leave the Manchester club this summer, as the arrival of Pep Guardiola is set to see the club’s playing squad shaken up.

Toure has been threatening to leave City for some time due to a perceived lack of respect from the club, with his current contract expiring in the summer of 2017.

The latest report suggests that the African could well pay out the last 12 months of his current deal to allow him to move to a new employer on a free transfer.

A host of sides are being linked with a move for Toure, including West Ham, who are in the market for big names before their switch to the Olympic Stadium this summer.
