Whilst not as talked about as much as our FA Cup triumph in the same year at Old Trafford, there was still much to be admired about this victory in the league.
Jermain Defoe got a 64th minute winner for the Irons, in a side boasting Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and Paolo Di Canio. Manchester United started with Scholes and Keane but had youngster Luke Chadwick in the starting XI alongside them. However, make no mistake, this was a full strength United team that we turned over.
