Manchester United 0 West Ham 2: FA Cup March 1986
Widely renowned as one of the greatest eras in West Ham’s history. Two wins over Manchester United at Old Trafford in the same year showed the capabilities of an extremely talented squad, who were unlucky to not go further than they did both in the cup and the league.
A Ray Steward penalty and Geoff Pike got the goals in a 2-0 victory that saw us through to the 6th round via a replay. It was a shock result, mainly because neither Frank McAvennie or Tony Cottee got on the scoresheet for the Irons. We ended up being dumped out of the FA Cup by Sheffield Wednesday days later.
