West Ham have pulled off yet another fantastic signing this year by securing goalkeeper Adrian for another two seasons.

The deal runs until 2017 but there is the option to extend the deal until 2019. The Spaniard joined West Ham in 2013 after a number of impressive performances for Real Betis.

Many presumed he would be back-up to Jussi Jaaskelainen but when Adrian was given the chance to impress it wasn’t long before the 28-year-old was first choice for the Hammers.

Adrian spoke of his delight at securing a new deal:

“This is a proud moment for myself, my family and friends and I am really happy to have signed my second contract with the Club. I feel really happy for the Club and the fans.

“I never imagined this kind of relationship with the fans. I spent 16-years at Real Betis and it was difficult to leave your home.

“But from the moment I arrived in London the West Ham fans had a special relationship with me.

“For me this is a really good moment and I just want to enjoy it. This is my third season here and I want to stay here for a long time.”

The Spaniard had an unfortunate start to the season when he was sent off against Leicester but recent heroics against Manchester City and Norwich show just how valuable the keeper is to the team.

Now to beat David De Gea to Spain’s number one!
