Aaron Cresswell

Manchester United are rumoured to be considering a £15 million move for West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell, according to the Sun.

The Hammer of the year recently signed a new deal at the club but Louis Van Gaal is desperate to get a replacement in for the injured Luke Shaw as he does not believe that Marcos Rojo is a good enough option at left-back.

Naturally, Cresswell could be an option for Van Gaal as the former Ipswich defender was very impressive in his debut Premier League season in 2014/15. Although the rumoured price tag is around £15 million, the Hammers would surely value their star defender higher than that due to the new contract and the fact that he is a home grown player.

Van Gaal is said to be considering his options in the left-back slot before January but it is becoming increasingly likely that the Dutchman will look to add further quality to the position in the winter window.

Even if United do follow up their interest, West Ham will undoubtedly stand firm over their Hammer of the Year. The defender has endured a mixed start to the season so far but his recent performances suggest that the 25-year-old is getting back to his best.
