After two home losses to Leicester and Bournemouth, it didn’t seem feasible that West Ham would be 3rd in the league at this stage. Nevertheless, after a few superb performances, the Hammers are flying high at the moment as they head into a home fixture against Norwich City this weekend to further cement their place in the top four.

There have been some outstanding performers for Bilic’s side so far and there seems to be a real unity throughout the squad under Bilic (other than Amalfitano).

Lanzini as he together with Payet and Zarate has shown the ability to keep, control and deliver the ball efficiently which has allowed WH to win a few games.

Payet is by far the most impressive so far, with Reid not far behind him, and when Song returns, well West Ham definitely have a squad that can finish top six. I’m sorry to say that one of our main liabilities is Noble, he just doesn’t think fast enough for today’s game. Noble’s pass that gifted Norwich their 1st goal for sure was wayward, but the lack of aggression shown by the West Ham defender receiving the ball was woeful, in fact Noble’s pass was closer to the West Ham receiver than Brady, who was allowed to run in & score. The true result of the game v Norwich yesterday should have been a 1-0 West Ham win. The work between Sakho & Payet for West Ham’s 1st was world class, but just about the entire West Ham team allowed Redmond to run into the box for Norwich’s 2nd, a matter of ball watching and of not running at Redmond in trying to deny him getting anywhere near the box, but eventually West Ham were really fortunate to have rescued a point with Ruddy’s terrible goal keeping error that eventually gifted the ball to Kouyate to score right at the end, so 2 terrible lapses of concentration in defence from West Ham gifted Norwich both of their goals, and then Ruddy’s mistake gave us a very fortunate point. West Ham have the class players and should have cleaned Norwich right up. All’s Norwich have is plenty of running & energy, sure they have Jerome, but once that energy and running peters out they may be in trouble. Games like this & against opposition like Norwich are there to be won West Ham, if we had have? We’d be sitting in 2nd place now. I’m sorry West Ham, but all our players must treat every game such as life, in that one day it will be your last, as one day you are sure to be right!
