Dimitri Payet has already illustrated to the West Ham faithful how skilful and influential he can be, hopefully he continues his amazing form.

The French midfielder can clearly be defined as a creative playmaker and so far this season the majority of our attacks involve Payet at some stage. With Payet having such a magnificent start in a claret and blue shirt, it will not take long before teams start to man mark him and attempt to lessen his influence. If West Ham had not signed Alex Song back on loan I would be concerned about Payet having less influence, however I think with the Cameroonian midfielder in the team we will be fine.

For the first half of last season Alex Song was instrumental in the club’s success and top four status at Christmas. The reasons for this are the fact that Song has an exceptional range of passing and reads the game extremely well.

Alex Song was marvellous for the team and his creative ability helped us significantly. In the second half of the season Song was disappointing and I think the fact that the ex-Arsenal player is a great playmaker was a contributing factor to his lacklustre performances because teams realised this.

After a while teams begin to learn other team’s best players and Song was probably West Ham’s best player in the first half of the season. This subsequently meant that opponents did not let Song have as much time on the ball and he was marked out of games. I am not suggesting Song was our only creative player, but he was the most influential.

However, now with Dimitri Payet and Alex Song at the club they could well be game changers when put in the starting 11. As I’ve said before, with one clear creative and skilful player the opposition easily can target them and try to reduce the impact they might make.

Whereas with two skilful playmakers gracing Upton Park, West Ham might be very difficult to beat. Song can play passes from deep lying positions and Payet can be integral in the final third. What I am saying here is that two creative players in the team makes it far more difficult for even the best sides in the league to stop and mark out of the game.

West Ham have already proved this season that we can beat the best teams. With these two particular players I think we can continue to beat teams and exceed expectations because they will struggle to mark two players in different positions, out of the game. When Song becomes fit there is no doubting that he adds another dimension to the team.

Countless times last season Song would request the ball from Adrian at a goal kick, he was thus encouraging the team to play attractive and simple football. Likewise, Payet adds a touch of class that the West Ham faithful haven’t seen for a long time, he certainly is an upgrade from Stewart Downing.

What is also positive is the fact that Mark Noble is in great form and Kouyate looks good as always. The midfield especially at West Ham is really competitive and looks strong and creative this season.

To conclude, when Payet and Song feature in the same team, there is no doubting that they will be game changers for West Ham, and will revolutionise the team with unbelievable vision and indisputable class.

I agree with everything except Mark Noble’s form, he has given the ball away in dangerous positions in every game this season, I would say he is the player who is in most danger of losing his place in the team once Song is fit!
