Aside from Cech, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was the only other player not to be in Arsenal’s starting XI for the FA Cup final.

The England midfielder came in on Sunday for last season’s player of the year Alexis Sanchez, and went on to score the winner.

With the Chilean playmaker likely to miss the opening game, The Ox is the prime candidate to replace him after a solid performance at Wembley.

And the 21-year-old, who has been maturing well under Arsene Wenger’s guidance, will be keen to stamp his authority on the team when given the chance.
