The opposition
Arsenal present arguably one of the most difficult opponents for West Ham on the opening day of the season.
The Gunners are fresh off the back of a morale boosting win over Champions Chelsea in the Community Shield, and will be looking to kick start their league campaign with three points at home.
It has been a quiet summer for the north London side, whose only major signing so far has been goalkeeper Petr Cech
Several squad players have moved on, but the core of the first team remains almost identical to last year.
Nine of those who started at Wembley on Sunday also started against Aston Villa in the FA Cup final back in May, and six started in the final league game against West Brom.
