Razvan RatDespite only joining the Hammers in the summer, Razvan Rat has admitted he will be offski should West Ham face Championship football next season.

Speaking to the Daily Express, the Romanian said:

“There are some clauses and conditions in my contract but one thing is sure, my contract ends if West Ham are relegated,”

“I will be fighting to keep West Ham in the Premier League. I have a wife and three-year-old daughter to look after.

“But I try to keep my family away from what I do. They must only the know the good part of my job. They need to feel only the good part of football.

“This is my job and I am trying to do my best for me and my family and also the player that the fans want to see. I want my family to read in the papers how good a performance Razvan Rat had.”

Ratzvan you are on £40,000 a week so i’m sure you and your family are very comfortable.

  • pete says:

this is a shame that so many players have a clause in their contract about relegation. surely if they knew that they don’t get to just walk away from the mess they have played part in they might indeed fight harder to avoid it?

  • Dan says:

Hopefully there’s a clause in his contract that we can get rid of him if we stay up too. He’s been shite. Average defender at best and appalling distribution of the ball.

  • Dave says:

Yes agree, he has not performed to the standard that was/is expected of him. But you could say that about the whole squad bar three or four individuals.

  • Jack says:

His family will hear you had a good performance when you actually put one in you mercenary.. Surely Potts deserves the lb spot ahead of players like this?!

  • Danielson says:

I totally disagree. He gows quite unnoticedby many but actually works his backside off. For me he has been one of the only players who has consistently put in a good shift. He isnt as strong on the ball as you’d like but to say he has been shit is a bit of an insult. He plays some great balls and runs up the wing behind jarvis, west ham need more players like him who get on the pitch to play. Perhaps if the likes of diame maiga nolan in fact most of the team worked as hard then we might get somewhere.

  • john butler says:

maybe he knows he would not be good enough even in the championship

  • wolfie says:

He’s been ok from what I’ve seen.Nothing special but @ the same time has been one of our consistent players, makes good runs forward and his balls into the box are no worse than Jarvis who cost a lot more than him.
If we go down there will be a massive clear out with few of the squad wanting or being allowed to stay.

  • Simon says:

No way srry he,s been crap I thought he would b better like someones said his passing is terrible but u csn say that about all of them I,m a die hard hammer but it’s been that bad I cancelled my sky. they just don’t work hard enough ginge is the online one whos played well wen he,s not been injured and plse tell me how we payed 5 m. For maigga

  • sibbo says:

SAMS THE PROBLEM GET RID OF HIM AND WE WILL START TO PLAY

  • ed says:

hes a terrible player.. going forward he’s great.. he puts some great crosses in and really works hard to get up the pitch.. but hes a defender.. and defensively, hes terrible.. if a cross comes in from the left hand side.. Rat is NOWHERE NEAR the player he’s supposed to be marking.. he’s constantly caught out in the box.. when Adebayor scored against us in the cup he was a million miles away from him.. if he leaves it wont be a huge loss.. i genuinely think Obrien and Mcartney are much better than him.. they know how the LB position works.. Razvan aint got a clue

  • martin says:

Usual loyalty from a foreign player. Let him clear off then., he can’t defend anyway!

  • Tony Hammer says:

Well he has a lot to do to prove to me that we have not got a real dud here. Slow, and positionally awful he has now hit a real low with his distribution being limited to giving the ball away by hitting long, hopeful nothing balls

I had high hopes for him too. I would rather see McCartney playing left back for the rest of the season

  • Pete says:

Let him go now, let Potts have a run, how are the youth going to learn their trade with the likes of him, waste of space. coyi

  • Mike says:

This bloke is shocking. I couldn’t care less about him staying. I’m with a prev poster. Let’s hope he has a clause that says we can get rid of him even if we stay up.

It’s been such a long time since we had a pair of decent full backs.

  • John Hudson says:

Don’t know why he would want to leave if we go down his skill level is more suited to the championship!

  • Spyinthesky says:

That last bit is a bit unfulfilled then. Unplug the TV if I were him.

  • Steve says:

    Take fat Sam with him

    • Geoff says:

How short some peoples memory is . Fat Sam as you call him got us up a year early and has only half a pack of cards to play with. Better support when needed is better than Judas’s in the terrace

  • Spin says:

He’s been average, just like Reid was in his first season, and I think I’m being kind to Reid there,

  • razor says:

Jog on then son. You certainly won’t be missed as your defending is clueless.
