Pelly RuddockRather surprising news has just been published on the official West Ham site. Defender Pelly Ruddock has joined Skrill Premier club Luton Town on a permanent basis.

The move will shock a lot of Hammers, with the 20-year-old impressing in pre-season and deemed one for the future.

With our defensive problems well documented and Jordan Spence linked with a move to Queens Park Rangers, you’d imagine Ruddock’s time may have come sooner rather than later.

There can’t be any financial motives behind the sale – very low wages – so, you’d imagine he just didn’t do enough to convince Sam Allardyce.

Shame, thought he had lots of potential to become a home grown Mohamed Diame type of player.

Yes again Sam has let a very good young talent go without having a look at him. Luton have got a gem there, and I just hope that our thick negotiators have put a sell on clause in this one. I really am getting fed up with Sam not giving youth a chance, the childish way he exposed them against Forest was pathetic. I was one for keeping with Sam but I really am beginning to wonder now if he has totally lost the plot. Good luck to Pelly Ruddock
