Joleon Lescott in actionWest Ham manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed his interest in bringing Manchester City’s Joleon Lescott to Upton Park.

Big Sam – speaking after the FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest – said: “I don’t know if he is available, but if it is possible I would like to get him.”

Earlier last week, rumours surfaced that West Ham were hoping to take the England international on loan for the reminder of the season and – for once – the paper talk seems to be true.

Allardyce does not expect the likes of James Tomkins and James Collins to return in time to face Manchester City in the Capital One Cup semi-final, but is hoping for good news ahead of yet another six-pointer for the Hammers against Cardiff City.

I mentioned a while ago that Lescott would be a good target, but seriously, after recent events does anyone think that any player with ambition or even ability will want to join our sinking ship? Me and my son made the journey to Nottingham yesterday – freezing cold, 7am start and for what? I will NEVER be embarrassed to be a West Ham fan, but what a shambles. One man has created this – BFS. He manages the club and makes the decisions and currently he is managing it into a long period of re building as his management is piss poor.
