West Ham Looking At Celtic Star?

Gary HooperWith just one game left of the current Premier League campaign, much speculation is rife as to who West Ham will sign? Celtic ace Gary Hooper is just one of many having his name thrown around.

Are you on Facebook? Excellent, so are we http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

West Ham’s priority is said to be Andy Carroll, however with financial fair play rules set to come in, and a hefty wage set to be asked for, the Hammers may have to move for a cheaper option. Gary Hooper would suit the style of play at West Ham, both with his aerial prowess, and his ability to find the back of the net.

The former Tottenham youth star was snapped up by Celtic after scoring 43 goals in 80 outings for Scunthorpe United. Hooper has managed to find the net 63 times in his 93 appearances for the Scottish Champions.

For me, Hooper would be a great signing for West Ham; however he may not come too cheaply with Celtic rating him rather highly. Despite this, the Hoops only signed the clinical finisher for £2.4 million and thus don’t have much to earn back in terms of profit.

Hooper has all the attributes to become a great player for West Ham United; he is strong and can hold up the ball well as well as being a ‘fox in the box’ that, we as Hammers, have been gagging for since the times of Dean Ashton and Carlos Tevez.

Forever West Ham is now on Google+, so be sure to find us on there by quite simply (and rather unsurprisingly) searching ‘Forever West Ham’

A player of Hooper’s status may not be too hard to prize to Upton Park, as well as being a player that can really help us push forward and become a bigger and better team. The potential transfer would probably cost no more than £7m thus allowing us to buy more players to strengthen the team. Hooper is a must for us, and I would love to see him sport the claret and blue once again – but this time for West ham!

I am a Celtic fan andI’m afraid this is an awfully researched article. His “aerial prowess” is virtually non existant, the worst part of his game actually. Luckily fro you perhaps, he only has one year left on his contract and would maybe even be available for £5m – £6m. Worth far more in reality. Norwich reportedly had a £9.2m bid turned down in January.

  • Tonybhoy says:

Guys he defo would do well for yous, Plus it would only take 4 mill to get him,

  • james says:

He would do well in a 2 up front. Can’t see him flourishing on his own, unsupported. I’d love to see Hooper and Rhodes leading the line next season.

  • Tweet Afton says:

Ye can have him. He’s gone off the boil at parkhead and can go an wallow in some relegation dogfight down south. Don’t let the door hit yer arse on the way out Hoops.

  • jake says:

What makes English clubs believe they can saunter up here and offer ludicrously pitiful amounts for players of Hoops ability… That arse Carroll £35,000,000, and now £17,000,000 being banded about gt wise Celtic are not going to hand over guys for that kind of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Carl says:

The reason English clubs can saunter up to the sweaty league is due to the fact it’s a farce….. It was a two team league, now a one team league…. You play crap football and just because you beat Barcelona you think you are great…. The Germans showed us all exactly how good they really are! I remember your leagues top scorer trying out the premier league… Don’t remember him scoring though! If Hooper wants a challenge then the premier is the best league he’s going to get a chance!!!! Bye bye

    • jimbhoy says:

oh Carl, sounds like your bitter and twisted , lets face a few facts ,man utd, romped to the leagne title down here leaving everyone else in their wake, while the rest fought over the other 3 places for the champions league, the only thing that makes the league,s different is the money that can be earned in the E.P.L. so you really need to wake up and smell the shite your shoveling mate, notice Carl you didn,t say who you support you moron , Lets hope next year you dont have a one horse race again lol regards Jimbhoy…… Hail Hail !

    • Fitz61 says:

EPL man utd won it in a canter. Only 2 or 3 teams would have any chance of winning it. We do not think that we are great but done very well in a hard champions league group. The money some English teams spend and get nowhere is unbelievable. If that West Ham want Hooper they could have him for around 5million but from what I have seen they struggle on a regular basis.

      • carlo says:

West Ham always struggle, as opposed to Celtic who are in a two team league and still manage to consistently finish 2nd?

    • mildouwolf says:

The Germans also spanked Man City who were your English Champions at the time ! Yes Celtic beat Barca which was a historic night, I wonder how many EPL teams would have done that and I hope you’re not suggesting Barca are a poor team just because they were beaten fairly easily by an excellent German team? I can assure you Barcelona would win the EPL by a country mile if they were in that league ! The big test in football is the Champions league and Celtic got as fas as any EPL team and further than Man City and Chelsea ! If hooper can score in the Champions league I’m sure he can score against dross like Norwich Wigan Newcastle and Fulham etc

  • barney says:

Players west ham should go for to compete in top half, Hooper, Rhodes, Scott Sinclair, Tom Ince, Mcmanaman not sure if there Big Sam type of player. I like Carroll but too expensive, WE COULD GET 2 OR 3 PLAYERS for the price of him.

  • baxterboy12345 says:

i like celitc he so fuck if hooper goes some 1 will come ass hole

  • Paddy says:

Your league is not the best give me the Bundesliga any day at least we know our league is poor Hoopet would be to good for a small team like West Ham

  • teddy says:

i’m a rangers fan so i hope someone signs him as he’s a very good player but i think he’ll cost 8m+

    • vino says:

You are right teddy boy, he is a very good player. I hope he is still at Celtic next season for the European games, hail hail

  • eddie smith says:

That boy Carl is priceless, the sweaty league is a 2 team league is it and Celtic are a poor team? Those of us old enough to remember Stuart Slater ( one of your heroes ) and total shite up here and don t get us started on Berkovitz. Did your English champions not get a spankin from the 2nd best team in Spain, so lets no even talk about West Ham who ve got that much money they had to move to a stadium bought and paid for by the tax payer ya daft cockney twat

  • roxter says:

Gary Hooper has scored goals in the champs league so west ham will have to pay champs league prices for him no peanuts to play in the chumps league especially with a small second rate club I’m confident he’ll stay as Celtic can offer champions league football nearly every season that’s footy’s holy grail he won’t want to give that up & the likes of west ham can only dream of competing at the highest level of European football

  • DaBhoys says:

Celtic fan here. Hooper would cost around 7m. But would not go to the likes of West Ham who are, no disrespect, a second rate team at best. Why would he leave a club that is getting to the Champs League knockout stages every year to a team that are in a relegation battle.
West Ham will go down next season, you heard it here first

    • Iron says:

Must admit Celtic play in the best league in Europe, and without a doubt will win the champions League next year with Georgie Best getting the winner !

    • West ham Wayne says:

Ha ha ha he is playing one of the worst leagues in Europe for a start and he is a west Ham boy…Nuff said

    • West ham Wayne says:

      Relegation? Not even close pal

    • West ham Wayne says:

And Motherwell manager and player gets players of the year in the league you have just won said it all

    • Phil the iron says:

Here we go again! Mickey Mouse club in Mickey Mouse league! Only in champs league by default ie, came first in forth rate league! Just ask yourself this, where did he play before? Leagues below first class prem! Scunthorpe was it? Jet now he is somehow “best” striker in the world!? Yeah! Get a life! West Ham? Only the 6th richest team in best league in world! Know your place before mouthing off! Thanks!

    • gazza says:

Hooper would jump at the chance to play in any premier league team instead of the fourth division of english football lets face it celtic would struggle in the championship . !!!!!!!!!!

      • Toddy says:

Celtic would struggle in the championship !!! Yet we beat Barca and qualified out of our champions league group ahead of Benfica and Spartak !
How did the other Laaandaan clubs get on in their champions league groups this season !?
        Muppets

      • jimbhoy says:

Gazza you are a numpy lol, follow a real team, the idea is to win the league not fight off relegation every year, and while we are at it most teams pay for there own bloody stadium not the tax payer………………….. you nugget Hail Hail …………

      • mildouwolf says:

Gazza are you back on the wine again ? Look at sum of the very poor teams in the EPL and you honestly think Celtic would struggle in the Championship ? You just sound like a complete idiot !

    • Hammer says:

      U stupid cunt!!

  • J Miller says:

Do Celtic have two Gary Hoopers ? The writer of the article sounds like Kevin McLeod from Grand Designs to to make a 1960s bungalow in the chatsworth estate sound like a penthouse in manhatten,Gary Hooper good in the air ? Mibbees on a trampoline perhaps, Ive actually had a good laugh at this article, assumption before fact with little or no research.

    • mick says:

        • mick says:

they did they robbed nurses, police n ambulance crew out o jobs u must o heard that or r ure blue tinted soecs still glued to ure face

        • J Miller says:

Yes,Rangers where liquidated in 2012 and assets of the club sold to a consortium, who started up a new football club in the guise of Rangers, its a terrible awful thing to happen to Rangers AND Celtic who have missed the challenge,I hope for the sake of the game that the new Rangers FC can get to the SPL as soon as possible and bring more interest to that league. In answer to the question ‘Did Rangers Die ? The answer is an unequivical YES.

    • Toddy says:

Your Rangers mates ! You mean Zombies ?
Rangers died last year. Anyone who thinks otherwise is clearly sniffing glue.

    • jimbhoy says:

Wayne, me thinks your off yer head son, Rangers mates ? take it you mean Queens park rangers …………………………………….

  • mick says:

mite be a dull league in scotland but west ham give me a break cant even make big sams long ball look half decent and ure best player nolan is a has been couldnt lace victors boots ure last decent player was celtic made, remember paulo di canio nuff said

  • scott sears says:

Celtic supporters make me laugh the standard of footbal up therel is league 1 at best, west ham are in the best league in the world and mid table. Not bad really is it, they shouldnt give out sympathy positions in champs lge makes the competition second rate. Celtic are the only pro team up there arent they. Cant believe they actually lost some games this year.

    • jimbhoy says:

Scott looks like you support West Ham mate what the hell would you know about Standards lol get a life ……………………………..

  • Mallorcablue says:

Jesus there is some amount of pish been pushed by fans of Pacific Shelf FC. If Rangers are dead then guessing all your history pre 1994 is gone!

But hey, let’s ignore the facts and sweep them under the carpet! You have been doing that since the days of Big Jock and a certain Mr Torbett! Lie, deflect and deny – The Celtic way!

    • Craw says:

You’re factually incorrect pal. Celtic were never liquidated. They changed entity, a simple name/status change that’s all. 125 years unbroken history.

Time for a second helping of jelly n ice cream too soon. Another zombie rebirth is in the offing haha.

  • Tom says:

Why would he wana play in Scotland when he could be playing in the Barclays premier league.

    • mildouwolf says:

Maybe for the same reason Larsson didn’t want to play in the EPL ? because its over rated and has 14 very average teams in it, in fact some of that 14 are pure shite like West Ham
