West Ham Looking At Celtic Star?

Gary HooperWith just one game left of the current Premier League campaign, much speculation is rife as to who West Ham will sign? Celtic ace Gary Hooper is just one of many having his name thrown around.

Are you on Facebook? Excellent, so are we http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

West Ham’s priority is said to be Andy Carroll, however with financial fair play rules set to come in, and a hefty wage set to be asked for, the Hammers may have to move for a cheaper option. Gary Hooper would suit the style of play at West Ham, both with his aerial prowess, and his ability to find the back of the net.

The former Tottenham youth star was snapped up by Celtic after scoring 43 goals in 80 outings for Scunthorpe United. Hooper has managed to find the net 63 times in his 93 appearances for the Scottish Champions.

For me, Hooper would be a great signing for West Ham; however he may not come too cheaply with Celtic rating him rather highly. Despite this, the Hoops only signed the clinical finisher for £2.4 million and thus don’t have much to earn back in terms of profit.

Hooper has all the attributes to become a great player for West Ham United; he is strong and can hold up the ball well as well as being a ‘fox in the box’ that, we as Hammers, have been gagging for since the times of Dean Ashton and Carlos Tevez.

Forever West Ham is now on Google+, so be sure to find us on there by quite simply (and rather unsurprisingly) searching ‘Forever West Ham’

A player of Hooper’s status may not be too hard to prize to Upton Park, as well as being a player that can really help us push forward and become a bigger and better team. The potential transfer would probably cost no more than £7m thus allowing us to buy more players to strengthen the team. Hooper is a must for us, and I would love to see him sport the claret and blue once again – but this time for West ham!

Think hoops would b good fit at west ham, I would rather he stayed but if he wants to play in the richest (not best or even second best) league in town good luck to him. I’m not sure why other Celtic fans fret where he ends up. When he goes we will fill our boots with coin regardless of where he plays next.

West Ham have been up and down more often than a brides nighty. Hardly appealing to anyone with ambition, and in the struggle street end of Europe’s most over hyped, and over bloated, yet underachieving league. The standard I have seen this last year or two is poor compared to the real quality leagues of Europe. Champions League tells the truth on your true level. It’s 4th highest standard at best. I think some of you have had too many bubbles blown in your eyes. :)))

  • Toddy says:

West Ham clowns tryin to compare their shitty trophyless club to Celtic. Hahahahaha I’ve heard it all now.
Another pointless club with no intention of ever achieving anything. Avoiding relegation is everything to you plonkers.
Compare the trophies, fanbase, stadium etc etc etc

    ST holder at Celtic Park
    Soft spot for Hammers
Hooper would be a good match fo Hammers. Good in and around the box.
Hopeless with his head cant think of 3 goals he has scored wih headers missed from 6 yards at weekend.
I think he would be aound 5 or 6 million given he is entering last year of contact

Celtic would struggle in the English 2nd division . Hordes of illiterates marauding South every other week and creeping home with their tails between their legs . Give them independence and get rid of the delluded fools .

Scotland international team….. Is that not the England B team??? Pmfsl

  • Kincorther says:

These sort of posts always bring out the muppets.

I like Hooper, he’s a clinical finisher when in form and has a good record in big games (Champ. League and Old Firm when they existed). On the downside – he can go a run of games with absolutely no impact and he’s the kind of old school poacher that isn’t favoured by the top managers these days. I would be surprised if he makes it as an EPL striker of any significance

  • Ray says:

Listen lets face facts ,Yes West Ham are playing in a much better league ,but to compare West Ham to Celtic is ridiculous, Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in world football ,they have a massive world wide fan base , and they known be every football fan in the world.

  • Phil says:

I gotta say as a West ham fan that I can;t remember the last time we scored 7 goals. Ok, so it was a match for Mitchell Cole and it was Stevenage but by all accounts Gary Hooper fitted in really well as did the team around him. And financially it makes more sense than Andy Carroll does at £12m and £90k a week

  • hammer til the end says:

Celtic fans are deluded, how is it one of the biggest clubs in the world? West ham would win a shit league like the spl, what competition do they have? Celtic would be fighting a relegation battle in the premier league, what premier league players of any significance have opted Celtic? Champions league football cant even convince premier league players, they simply laugh at the offer, hooper is an essex boy and his dream is to play in the premiership, not in the spl, what player have you heard say ‘my dream is to play in the SPL’ ahahaha cmon you irons
