Is It Right West Ham’s Players Act Like This?

Diame NolanBit of a strange one this week; the effort, or lack of, versus Everton had many suggesting the boy’s minds were on holiday already. That got me thinking, is that what we should expect?

This season has been tremendous and no one will argue against that. Our objective fulfilled with relative ease. But, does this give the players the right to stop all effort? Hammers fans still travelled up to Goodison Park and, of course, the David Moyes send-off was a boost for Everton, but you’d expect something extra from the players to try and combat that atmosphere.

The players will still get paid as much for playing against Everton as they did against Chelsea (3-1), but if the effort of any player in any football match is not going to be full, then should they get paid full money?

It may be a bit hasty, but I thought the topic was an interesting one.

Did you go to the game and felt like you were disappointed with the effort shown?

Do you think it’s understandable for players to have a “job done” attitude?

I wonder sometimes if footballers understand fully what it costs to travel to away games, ticket prices & refreshments? No I don’t expect us to win every match but I do expect players to put in 100% effort, this was not the case at Goodison. Players need to consider the weekly salary they receive many Hammers fans may not receive that in a Year!

The Club & Management need to take some responsibility! Why hold Player of The Season Awards with two games to play & more important 72 hours before a game? also is it true that a few players went clubbing in Mayfair afterwards, is there any club rulings on this? should players if this is true be fined?

Yes we were safe from relegation but some players looked as if they had started their summer holidays two weeks early.

have to say even though WHU were never at the races against us, everton were brilliant and simply blew them away. i notcied big sam say that the keeper was the only one to perform for yous that day but i thought collins out performed him he did put maximum effort in, if it wasnt for him it would’ve been 4 or 5 nil easy

I’m coming down for the final game against Reading. A long journey from just outside Middlesbrough so I do expect to see 100% effort albeit the final game of the season but let’s go out with a bang.

I was at Everton and the only thing more shocking than our performance was just how quiet and subdued the Everton fans were (until the final whistle and then they livened up for Moyes coming out.) The only West Ham players who come out with any credit from the game were Jussi (outstanding saves) and Collins (was throwing himself in the way of everything.) Our midfield was nowhere to be seen and Carroll cut a frustrated figure up front. I think BFS has to take some of the blame though, made some strange tactical decisions…none more so bringing on C Cole for Diame at a point when our midfield was in danger of being overrun. Should have hauled off Nolan and brought on Nolan to stem the tide.

Romford Reg I think the Evertonians were a tad quiet to start with, this might have had something to do with their manager leaving after eleven years. We did liven up however and well before the final whistle.Generally the fans watch and appreciate the football on the pitch, but Goodison can become a smouldering bear pit if the fans feel aggrieved, usually the ref taking the brunt of their ire for a wrong decision.I also thought Collins was outstanding for you as well as the goal keeper.I was sitting next to a covert West Ham fan and had to ask him a few times what your fans were singing(Hearing not what it was)generally witty songs, but yawn yawn the sign on with a pen in your hands song wasn’t one of them.

BFS take off his love child Nolan ????…Nolan would have to lose a leg before he was taken off in any game…total waste of space…no wonder we get overrun when he sin the side. Depressing !

Nolan not the worst by a long way ….. Look at Noble . CCole and Tomkins. Polegetz,

They are awful . If Nolan was put up for sale there would be a long list of clubs hoping to get him ….
