West Ham’s Infamous Trip To Dubai

|

Carroll scoring against Swansea CitySometimes statistics speak for themselves. Having said that, I find people who believe in coincidence as very naïve, I feel this because of what I saw with West Ham United last season. On the31st March 2012, the Hammers played Reading in the showdown for Premier League promotion, it was billed as the promotion decider, where the winner would be certain for promotion.

Forever West Ham is now on Google+, so be sure to find us on there by quite simply (and rather unsurprisingly) searching ‘Forever West Ham’

The dual started at a frantic pace with West Ham acting as if they were the favorites for the tie, and showing this on the pitch by taking a two-goal lead. Though like any good underdog, Reading came back and triumphed going on to win the league. West Ham supporters left the Boleyn on this mid spring day feeling very pessimistic, but the looking at the stats at the end of the season showed that there was no need for this pessimism.

In early March, carrying over from February, this Reading match signaled our only loss for the remainder of the season. As I previously mentioned, the skill and determination it takes any team to pick up the extra edge to achieve your final goal, as we did last year takes dedication, but it also needs a tactic. This tactic began with a ‘warm training trip’ to Dubai. This week the Hammers are back out there and even though some critics will say its Sam Allardyce taking his players abroad so Gary O’Neil and Mark Noble can show off their Golfing skills to the rest of the squad. Though the results of the trip could show in the remainder of the season.

From the return of this trip West Ham United went from strength to strength and only lost the tie with the Royals. This run saw us only finish third, but the importance was that we were keeping teams out from beating us and taking a winning, or at least unbeaten momentum into the play offs. I can only hope that West Ham United can reach the same levels that we did last year because the form needs to be turned around, especially the form that we have away from East London. The home form is fine, better than fine if you look at the performances. Swansea was the last team to face the winning form of West Ham United, and the win was well received.

The trip to the Gulf will hope to turn the season around for West Ham. With the next bulk of games coming very fast, and all of them looking as if we could falter if we continue on the same away form. With trips to Stoke, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City to deal with, we need to improve the form away from the Boleyn or we could start to see us become involved in an unwanted scrap for survival.

Abu Dhabi last year offered a fresh start and a break that gave West Ham United time, energy and momentum, anywhere near the same results as last year and the highly anticipated, and highly charged game with Tottenham could be the chance to leave the past season form behind.

Just to correct you, you didnt go 2-0 up against us, only 1-0.

For those who need reminding –

We did the double over you 🙂

  • Cb says:

And we very much look forward to relegating you on the final day as revenge

  • Jonn says:

Good luck with that, you know you cant beat us. Maybe if you pull your socks up 😉

All lm goin to say when Zola was our manager he took the players away they came back refreshed and survived from relagation so in my mind we needed it but l also think that we r to predictable so we need some new faces in our starting 11 its that simple

  • Terry Gill says:

I think we’ll survive but only just,Sam has got to start looking at different formations, were too predictable and were only effective when Carrols at it,if he’s marked out of it we really struggle,we need another striker up with him to feed off him and to run beyond defenders,to give us a new dimension.

My only comment would be: Jonn fuck off from here you twat. It makes me laugh how Reading fans even compare themselves to top tier teams. I really respect your manager but your fans are so fickle. Losing last Xmas and you pulled 14k against Donnie. Gates only decent when neutrals start attebding – hence the dire support and atmisphere. Tge drummer – need i say more! Fairweather rowers and rugby boys.

Not bothered where thy go for a break-Jamaica or canvey island for all I care! Just as long As we do the yids Saturday! (Are we still allowed to,say the “Y” word? If not sorry!) COYI!

  • Lord Canning says:

Only flaw in this stat is the fact that upon our return from Dubai this time, we’re playing Tottenham not Reading.
No doubt the ensuing defeat to them will be blamed on the fact that the fixture computer screwed up. With regards to dear old Reading, we play them last game, let’s hope we have the additional 10 points in place to ensure against any last day relegation. Prayer mats out!
