THREE Potential Replacements For Diame

Bolton Wanderers MidfielderThis potential outcome has been playing on the minds of West Ham fans since Diame’s high-class performance for West Ham United against Chelsea. The news that Momo Diame could be on his way out of the club for a minimal fee. I say minimal because 3 million pounds for a player of his class would be an absolute steal.

With the bizarre comments from the unsettled Alou Diarra, it is a real possibility that we may have to scour the transfer market to sign a new enforcing midfielder. I have had a search to see who could be a possible replacement.

Are you on Facebook? Excellent, so are we http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

Yann M’Vila

This young French international midfielder is set to have played his last game for Rennes according to their manager. The player has apparently had a bid accepted by Russian club Rubin Kazan, although the player has expressed a wish to play in England, and London clubs have been strongly linked with M’Vila. Fulham, QPR and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked, with Arsenal linked with a move over a year ago. Could we possibly steal this move from Rubin Kazan or the rival London sides? The likelihood of acquiring this player is quite small; nevertheless, with the unpredictable nature of the transfer market, anything is possible.

Victor Wanayama

Wanayama is a player that we have previously been heavily linked with, a player that the club was exploring as an option well before we had made the move to bring Momo Diame to the club.

Victor earned many plaudits for his combative play against Barcelona in their highly unexpected victory over the Catalan giants. Wanayama is a player that Sam Allardyce is rumored to like and with the carrot of playing Premier League football, Wanayama could be convinced.

Again, the likelihood of bringing in Wanayama is slim, especially as Celtic will ask  for a high fee, though the power of Allardyce and his reputation could swing the move in West Ham United’s favour.

Stuart Holden

Stuart was a key part of Owen Coyle’s plans at Bolton Wanderers, until he picked up a very serious injury that kept him off the pitch for a very long time.

Naturally the worry would be that signing a player who has only just come back from a lay off that lasted around 15 months is a very risky idea, but Stuart was a very promising player at Bolton and many still maintain the idea that if he was injury free, the fate that Bolton had last year wouldn’t have occurred. Sam as we know, has good links with Bolton Wanderers and the possibility of getting Holden would be admittedly a risky strategy, but could be an inspired move.

Do we need a replacement?

Is there the option to trust in the players that are at the club, could we have a player ready to take over from Diame playing Championship football in the enigmatic Ravel Morrison? I feel that we do need to bring in a player to replace Diame if that day comes that he chooses to leave, but I am not ruling out the possibility of Ravel Morrison having enough ability to one day become the player that we are currently looking for, only in the eventuality that Momo Diame leaves the club.

I agree and hope your right. However Morrison I believe will replace Nolan in the long term. So we still need a DM player if Diame or Diarra leave.
