Collison To Replace Nolan?

|

Jack CollisonJack Collison recently made his way back to the first team, and having seen him play well as of late, I feel that he holds some good potential.

Collison seems like another Kevin Nolan, another midfielder who can score goals, however I see Collison as a much more creative player and this could prove essential in the coming weeks let alone seasons.

Are you on Facebook? Excellent, so are we http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

At 24 years of age I feel he is soon ready to replace Nolan whom has been out of sorts recently, and unfortunately hasn’t been up to the mark but Collison has and the Welsh international has been looking very bright.

With a little more match experience under his belt Collison will be perfect for the free role behind the striker, and as much as I like Nolan the end of his West Ham career is soon awaiting.

Forever West Ham is now on Google+, so be sure to find us on there by quite simply (and rather unsurprisingly) searching ‘Forever West Ham’

I’m not too sure what everybody else’s views are on the Welshman, but assuming we have a full squad to pick from this would be my potential team: Jaaskelainen; Demel, Reid, Collins, McCartney; Noble, Diame; Cole, Collison, Jarvis; Carroll

Although many won’t be impressed by the above selection, I feel that it is time for a change in certain areas of the field.

Collison holds bags of ability and just needs time to flourish, and if he stays fit he could very well be that flavour of creativity and flair that we have been long awaiting.

Hopefully Allardyce rallies the troops and we begin to pick up some much needed points to avoid a relegation battle in the coming weeks.

I agree with you completely , when Nolan isn’t scoring I find him useless whereas Collison has more about his game. The sooner big Sam realises this ,the better.

  • Nick Simons says:

And Collinson is West Ham. Nolan never will be.

    • Pox says:

Yep, Collinson is West Ham just as much as Rio, Lampard, JCole, Carrick yada yada was! The only ones that are West Ham are us, to them its a job.
Nolans dip in form has been the same as the teams.

  • Tonka says:

Pretty much anyone could replace Nolan at the moment and improve the team

  • Tony Hammer says:

Right now I would say that Joe Cole is more suited to that role in just behind the main striker than Jack Collison is. Collison could eventually play there and has age on his side. Nolan and Cole are the wrong side of 30. Sadly in a wider position he doesn’t have the pace or the tackling ability to contribute much going either way. Playing him and Vaz Te in the wide positions at Arsenal was suicide. But that is another topic altogether

  • Tony Morrissey says:

Sam see Nolan as his Son or younger brother and will show great loyalty to him as Nolan did by dropping a division to work with Sam.

  • Simen says:

Personally I think Carlton Cole has been better than Caroll this sesason. He wants to end his career in West Ham and he really works hard when he plays. Give the man a new contract for gods sake.
And Sam will not drop Nolan for anyone. Even if his form has been bad rescently.

Good team choice. Perhaps Tomkins for Coliins, with Joe in behind Andy C. I hope Sam stops underestimating the team when we play away; Carlton on his own is hopeless. Diame, Joe, Jack, Matt and Andy should lead us to 9th. COYI.

Nolan has been a passenger for ages..any idiot with a basic knowledge of the game can see that..apart from Nolans bestest friend in the whole world…Allardyce !! I rest my case m’lud……

My team when all fit would be 442. Jaaskelainen; Demel, Reid, Collins, McCartney; Diara, Diame; Cole, Jarvis; Chamackh, Carroll

The longer Nolan plays the more we will slide down the table , collision is a good squad player but like the rest of our squad lacks pace and power.arsenal ripped us to pieces with speed on the break , the fans don’t like Ramsey because he is slow and holds the ball up.we have 10 players slower than Ramsey .i am sick and tired of this “set up for set piece” type of football we break have no speed to progress and end up passing it back to Reid who punts it long to cole , Nolan can’t support the top man so this system is flawed with Nolan in the team , it’s like playing with ten men away from home? O Neil , Taylor , noble , Nolan , collision slowest midfield in prem!

  • stuart says:

collison has been crap since he came back, championship player for me, lacks ideaa in prem, he was shocking against arsenal, apart from goal.

  • Anne says:

Yes we have Joe who would play better in that role, He Nolan, is ok when he is scoring but drops his head when he isn’t. As for Noble he is a very hard working hammer and he covers so much of the pitch getting the ball back when we lose it. Can not understand people putting down our real hammer boys If they turn our team into all foreign players then l will not be able to go and watch them it will not be West Ham anymore.

  • Ben Edkins says:

I cant see how anybody would want to drop Noble, West Ham at heart, and works his socks off

  • Spence55 says:

Totally agree Ben. Of ALL the players, Mark Noble is the one that can never be faulted for Effort committment and passion. You see jokers like Demba Ba and Diame come and go, just worried about the next pay cheque or joining “better” clubs. They have no feelings or desire to fight for The Hammers and I am sick and tired of wasters like these. I dont care how good they are, if their heart and soul isnt with us then just clear off and good riddance. Diame can rot in Arsenals reserves as far as im concerned and good riddance. Potts, Spence, Collison, Tomkins and Noble…these are the lads that we need, players who will shed some blood for the Claret & Blue. Gold and Sullivan, please listen…NO MORE short term signings of wasters please !!
