Does he deserve a new contract?

|

I was asked the question: Does Sam Allardyce deserve a new contract when his current West Ham one runs out?

Well in all honesty this is not something I have fully thought a lot about and it is not as simple as a yes or no answer from me. I will give you why I think he should and should not receive a new contract and from that you can take what you want.

Are you on Facebook? Excellent, so are we http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

YES – Well Big Sam has brought about a lot of grit and determination in the players, for example in the way we come back from being a goal or two down, where as before Big Sam we would of just rolled over.

He has also made us hard to beat and Upton Park has become a feared place for any Premiership club to come to. His signings have been fantastic with the likes of Mohamed Diame, Andy Carroll, Joey O’Brien, Jussi Jaaskelainen and of course Kevin Nolan. I think West Ham as a club need is a bit of stability, where we are not chopping and changing players and managers all the time, and stability for any club is a good thing and I think Big Sam offers that.

Granted his type of football is not what West Ham fans like to see but I personally think we have played some great football and not the kick and chase game that Sam was renowned for. At the end of the day I am happy with any type of football style as long as we are looking good and winning and that’s what he has happening at West Ham.

NO – Well the main thing is does he have what it takes to push west Ham as a club on to the next level? With us likely to take over the Olympic Stadium the fans are going to want to see bigger name players coming and does he have the pulling power to get them to us? Are other Premiership clubs going to find the formula to beat his style of player meaning a poor run of results and how will he cope with that?

What ever your answer is I think we can all agree that Big Sam has done, and is doing, a fantastic job at the club at the moment and I hope it lasts because personally I do really like Big Sam but ultimately the club is bigger than the players and the manager so if there needs to be a change there will be. I am glad he has proven some of the Hammer fans wrong that were criticising his appointment before he had chance to even prove himself.

I hope for stability and a long reign under a successful Sam Allardyce!!

He has worked miracles so far! No one else could of got us up so quick or persuaded players to play for him like he has. He deserves a long bumper contract, imagine what he could do with a long contract and the chance to put his stamp on the club?
Big Sam is not the kind of man who rests on his laurels, this is the best football we have played for over a decade. Losing Sam would be a massive mistake

Even assuming things go to plan we won’t be in OS for 4 years, which may be longer the BS stays with or without results going our way, so why is the question even being asked at this stage

What a ridiculous question! Of course we should give him a contract. There is no reason not to. Name another manager who could have brought us back up at the 1st attempt, made us the team with the best away record of any team in the country last season, often winning games north of Watford for the 1st time ever, making Upton Park an intimidating place to come and a terrific start to our season. Get a grip you need a reality check!

regarding the bit you said below

well he has been a manager for some time now and teams still have not found a formula to stop him achieving good things at clubs with very limited resources so what makes you think they all of a sudden will. there are no secrets in the premier league every one knows everyone’s style but stopping it is a different matter.
