Confidence Is A Weird Feeling At Upton Park

|

So Liverpool at home on Sunday and I am going into the game with massive confidence and I could even say expectancy on us to win.

This is a very strange feeling; I don’t think I have ever been this confident in us going into a game against one of the biggest clubs of world football. Liverpool have a tough game away at Udinese tonight in the Europa League to try and confirm their progression in the competition, which will mean that they will have to play some first team players.

This can only work in our favour. With tonight’s match and all of the travelling hopefully the players will start to feel the fatigue in the game on Sunday. On top of this Luis Suarez is out of the match through suspension after picking up his 5th yellow card of the season for a stupid handball against Southampton at the weekend.

But do you know what I don’t think any of that matters, I feel that we would win the game anyway. Don’t get me wrong I am still worried about the striker issues and if they are going to get us enough goals but if we perform like we did against Chelsea we don’t need to worry about that.

We should be able to win every personal battle on the field if we play to the best of our abilities. Without Suares in their team Liverpool don’t have any fire power except for maybe Raheem Sterling.

Steven Gerrard isn’t the player he used to be and we have players to match him in the middle especially with Diame playing like he did in the second half of the Chelsea game.

The team should be full of confidence following the result against Chelsea and hopefully we can push forward and get some more points on the board over this tough period that we have encountered.

I feel on our day at Upton Park we can beat anybody, we have that confidence when we play at home and with the support that the crowd gives them we shouldn’t be scared of anyone.

We need to make Upton Park a fortress that it always used to be and if we do this we will make the Boleyn Ground one of the toughest stadiums to play at.
