FIVE things we learnt yesterday

|

So with a deserving point in the bag today against a Norwich City, lets look at 5 things we can take away from the match.

1. Another point in the bank on the way to the 40 point mark and Premier League survival. The game was there for the taking this afternoon but we came away from Carrow Road with a draw and the knowledge that the repeat fixture at home should provide us with 3 points.

2. Another solid defensive display especially from Winston Reid who looks vastly improved from our relegation season two years ago. He deservedly got the man of the match award and his mid week international appearance for New Zealand an subsequent travelling didn’t look like it had much of an effect on the young centre back. Guy Demel is also quietly plugging away and making the right back berth his own.

3. Ricardo Vaz Te looked a frustrated figure. The Portuguese winger endured a torrid time and was quite rightly substituted for Yossi Benayoun. Question marks remain whether his obvious talent can transfer to the premiership.

4. Jussi Jaaskelainen loves a dodgy kick. The veteran goalkeeper’s was questionable today and 3 times his kicks put unnecessary pressure on the team. James Collins remains clumsy.

5. Modibo Maiga and Vaz Te have the same hairdresser. The Mr T appreciation club seems to have a new member in Modibo Maiga.

Sorry to see Mark Noble giving away unnecessary free kicks around our penalty box again. Too many side to side moves also. Mark has to learn to move forward before adopting sideways options.

Poor old Carlton wasn’t up to it again was he ? Without Andy Carroll our options up front look a bit sparse. If Liverpool recall Andy at Chistmas then we’re in for a hard time unless the next transfer window can provide us with at least one alternative.

Was thinking the same about Maiha and Vaz Te!

    I pity the fool!

Carlton was awful to be fair and I’m not one to jump on his back but he was non-existent and he’s giving Andy Carroll a chance to get straight back into the starting eleven. Vaz Te wasn’t working back which left Demel exposed at the back. To be honest I would of started Yossi and Jarvis instead of RVT and Matty Taylor. Both looked bright when they came on and Maiga can’t play as a lone striker. Definitely needs someone up there with him.

Oh, I’ve been known to add all kinds of stuff. Bacon, onion, tomato, ltfeover roast beef, bell pepper slices, pickles, raw mushroom slices, pepperoni, ltfeover hashbrowns and the list could go on and on. Whatever I run across in the fridge while I’m getting the cheese could wind up on the sandwich!
