Will our great messiah return?

|

Dare I even take a breath or say his name in the same sentence as West Ham United. Dare I dream of his return along with every other Hammer around the globe? Dare I believe it could actually happen….and soon?

Since his arrival in 2006 he managed to bag 7 goals in 26 appearances and instantly he was a god in the eyes of the Hammers faithful everywhere. Looking at the stats you might think that’s a poor return for a striker, but those goals weren’t just your average goals scored throughout the season, these goals saved us from the drop and the man himself almost single handily saved our team from heartbreak and will always be considered to be the catalyst behind “The Great Escape” the man of course is Carlos Tevez.

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

After our survival, I say we (but Kia Joorabchian) sold Carlos Tevez to Manchester United, where he formed a prolific and almost Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole like partnership based on quick interchanges of passes and instinctive movement. He went on to stay at Manchester United for 2 years scoring 19 goals in 63 appearances, before seeking pastures new with Manchester rivals Manchester City, where he has been since 2009 earning his most impressive tally or goals, standing at 48 goals in 79 appearances.

Enough of the facts, the truth is can we seriously lure him back to Upton Park? The answer is yes, I know I sound crazy and no doubt fans will slaughter me for this, but think about it hard and you might see my point.

South American footballers always connect to their clubs they play for it is in their veins, years now players such as Robinho, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Elano, Deco and so forth all have had the urge to return to Brazil and strut their stuff in their remaining years. But when a player like Carlos Tevez who plays with his heart on his sleeve and connects to a club such as our own, in the manner he did, could he forget about returning to Argentina (Boca Juniors) and consider his home to be Upton Park? He could travel anywhere, even his home country and still never get a better response from fans as he would if he graced his presents in the stadium let alone wearing our colours.

Most fans will be thinking, why would Carlos Tevez return to West Ham United after winning the league title with both Manchester United and Manchester City and then leave for us a newly promoted team? He loves the club; it’s as simple as that! He said a few seasons back that he would always love to return to West Ham one day, as he has said the same about Boca Juniors, so surely that is something to take into account and not just brushed under the rug like nothing.

A loan deal might be the best option, whether it be a six month or end of season loan, fans would be elated and deem the two David’s and Big Sam as greats for bringing our messiah home, even for just a season. There are rumours circulating on Twitter and on the web for some time now that Carlos Tevez could make a shock return to us, but in recent weeks things have stepped up a notch. Apparently according to Agent_WHU on Twitter “West Ham United FC have agreed a 6 month loan deal to take an Argentinian striker subject to a Dutch player going elsewhere” this is simple to decipher, my guess it’s Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie and if he decides to move to Manchester City or

not. He went on to further say “We have everything agreed with the club and the player, it all comes down to 1 element. Now we wait. The Boards backing is HUGE!”

Have your own views on the potential of this transfer happening, but I for one am going to live in the dream world and believe in our club to pull this one off.

Have faith, in Big Sam we trust! COYI!

Think we already have the messiah back (if you are talking about the Great Escape season). Totally underestimated for the role he played in that year and remember seeing him at Wigan with 6000 other Hammers.. Fantastic performance at the back and even has the same initials JC. The Ginger Pele has come back where he belongs………must admit though I would be pleased to see Carlos back in Claret & Blue although think this is probably wishful thinking

this is practically no more than a dream, but it was practically no more than a dream that we would get him in 2007 or 2006, this is like a 1000/1 bet for him to come, he is my second favorite player to have ever played in a whu shirt after di canio ofcourse, i would be close to tears of happiness if this guy came.

  • Hammerhead says:

    No chance.

AC were scared off by his wage demands, & he will be a key player for man city next season.

    Absolutely no chance in hell.

  • Claret says:

Bore off hammerhead. The difference is – if there is an element of truth to this- that he loves the club and therefore wage demands would be less vigorous. Dg and ds are willing to pay top notch as a show of intent. Moving to ac would be more money driven than affection.

  • Eric the idle says:

He’s not the messiah, he’s a vey naughty boy

  • kinbuckhammer says:

Carlos tevez was seen coming out of london city airport on wednesday, this may of course have more to do with the Olympics.. but who knows??

  • saboteur says:

I think messiah is a bit strong,

yes he love’s the club (not enough to stay the first time though), and he helped us avoid relegation, but if you look at the fact’s we accumulated more points when he wasn’t playing,

I’d still like him back though, COYI

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
him & our other new signing Messi will light up the prem!!!
It must be true…. Some bloke on twitter said so!!!

  • I’m not saying that its true, I am saying there is always a possibilty. If people are fans of football, then they should know by now that the game is full of suprises and crazy things can happen.

And Irons, I am not saying the guy on twitter is correct, I am questionable of their knowledge and links to the club as much as the next fan. I am just saying, there could be something in it, if he and many others are suggesting it could happen.

    That is all.
