Shall we do a Spurs?

|

Tottenham Hotspur and Daniel Levy have a nack for swooping in at the last minute and stealing signings from under the nose of West Ham, and I think we should play them at their own game by swooping in for Manchester City’s, Emmanuel Adebayor.

He’s currently one of many strikers that City want to get rid of along with Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko and Roque Santa Cruz, reports suggest.

He won’t be cheap, obviously but he’ll want first team football and we could surely offer him that as I think he’s the best striker we could realistically sign this summer.

I’m not sure what he’s on a week, though it wouldn’t be surprising if it was nearing 6 digits but he’s not getting any younger and I think the fact that he played for Spurs given his history with Arsenal suggests he’s not too bothered about crossing enemy lines!

Is it ambitious? Yes. Will it be the Davids’ most ambitious move this summer? I doubt it! I can’t see any harm in enquiring because if we do get lucky and grab him, our strike force with him, Yakubu’s signature looking imminent, Carlton Cole and Ricardo Vaz Te will surely be capable of scoring the goals to keep us in the Premier League and we can sufficiently strengthen at the back!

Let me know what you think at http://whuthroughandthrough.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/shall-we-do-spurs_15.html?m=1

As a City fan I would obviously rather West Ham have him than Spurs or any other top 6 team. If you could afford his wages there is no reason you could not sign him, he would be sold for about 12-15 million due to City wanting rid and that’s a great buy for you. Anyways best of luck for the new season and lets hope you stay up. 🙂

Haha what are you on mate?! He wants to play for a top team and we aren’t one of them! Honestly we get in the premier league and some fans start wetting their knickers.

  • The Cat says:

It is OBVIOUSLY a Non-Starter! There are so many reasons for this transfer NEVER to take place, I’m dumbfounded as to where I would begin to list the reasons why It’ll never happen.

  • Rob says:

I suppose Messi is on the radar as well

  • Dave says:

Some people amaze me, they really do. For a start, £10-£15M? Can we afford that? No. 6 digit wages, cam we afford that? No. European football, can we offer that? No (although some deluded fans think we should be challenging for it this season. Get real.) Relegation dogfights, can we offer that? Yes, along with half the Prem. Hes not going to drop from City to West Ham, not if we double his wages. We’re not even a proper Prem side yet, how people seem to think we can be a top 5 side and attract this kind of player is beyond me. Besides, he will be behind Neymar in the pecking order

  • Ian says:

175000 pound aweek you cannot afford his wages

  • John says:

I think he will link up really well with joey o’brien and and Kevin Nolan. A big step up from Modric and Kyle Walker.

this article is an opinion, the writer has every right to post it, as has anyone else l imagine? I agree the idea of Adebayor joining West Ham is pure fantasy, but you never know, stranger things have happened, Like many West Ham fans, I find this website well run and very informative…………COYI ‘><'

“Like many West Ham fans” I’m a West Ham fan, but where are those bloody fans you talk of!? Well run, very informative!? Are you on crack!?

        • essexhammers fan says:

  • Dan says:

Well that was a waste of 1 minute of my life reading this rubbish.

  • zola says:

He is a Man City Player bought for a lot of money from arsenal not long after the milksheikhs took over. Therefore he will likely be on around 100,000 a week. We now give out sensible wages – and wouldn’t even offer one of our most loyal and best players (Green) 50 grand a week. Therefore the idea that we would even bid for Adebayor is unrealistic, preposterous and would be stupid

  • Jason says:

Lol. Someone’s been in the pub all day.

  • Micky says:

Bloody hell we’ve only just come up no wonder opposin fans do laugh at us some people have their heads in the clouds I swear they do why on earth would the 2 David’s put us in a worse situation then we are already in considering they have just come out n completely slagged off eggy!! How he signed players n that does make me wonder why I bother coming on the Internet to read the stuff you come out with from monaco to arsenal to man city to real to spurs please tell me why he’d come to a team that will properly be fighting relegation again which by the way if we juat stay up I say is a good season when he can command bigger better teams and gt the wages he wants please you just have people laughing at you an this site WOW some people

  • Dave says:

Well, according to this website, we could be pushing for a European cup spot this season. Pretty much sums up how laughable the site is.

  • JMan43 says:

Wow, what a bunch of pessimistic sad sacks you lot are. Leaving the Adebayor comments to one side,, if the limit of your ambition is just to survive this coming season fuck off and support someone else cos don’t need you near The Boleyn. I already see worse teams in the PL than us and believe with a good bit of business over the summer we can have a season greater than surviving. No, we ain’t gonna get Adebayor, don’t even want him but there are players out there we can get that will give us a decent chance of finishing potentially in the top half. Outside of the top 4 or 5 don’t see anything that frightens me, so instead of throwing negative insults respond to the article constructively and for heavens sake revel in the fact we are back where we belong at the first time of asking and look forward with anticipation to the season to come, or go follow the Spuds.

    • Dave says:

Oh get of your high horse, take of your rose tinted glasses and realize that we are no longer a Prem side. Its going to take a LOT of rebuilding before we become established again. Nothing has changed in terms of squad quality since last season, a season where we failed to finish top of the Champ, a season we failed to beat so many champ teams, as season in which we only got promoted due to Blackpools abysmal finishing. If you expect a great season, your gunna be disappointed.

      School not on today?

  • essexhammers fan says:

I really don’t understand why people are slating this website? It’s a medium for people to offer THEIR OWN opinions….I like this website, keep up the good work I say……..COYI ‘><'

  • COYS says:

Hes on £170000 grand a week and Spurs pay half of it, City the rest.

How about Kevin Davies, on his last legs at Bolton, SAm loves him. Darren Bent? Bendtner ? Big lump from Norwich

  • gary says:

He is the 10th player we have been assotiated with there will be 10 more,i tend not to pay to much attention before i see them in a west ham shirt.

  • essexhammers fan says:

@COYS….all the players you’ve mentioned are proven goalscorers in the Premier League, l’d have any one of them at West Ham, unlike Maynard and Baldock………..COYI ‘><'
