Rumour Mill round-up

With the Hammers linked with more and more flair players, like Eljero Elia amongst other attacking players like Grant Holt and Yilmaz.

So is Sam Allardyce looking for flair over substance this season despite the team looking more professional and rigid last year. Although at home last season at times we looked strong and classy at times, away was where these flair players could become a real force.

The Premier League is about skill, speed and breaking at pace players like Ricardo Vaz Te and Elia are just what the club needs down those wings. Whilst the Hammers need two quality strikers, Cole being one, the Hammers must feel a striker short. Whilst it looks unlikely the Irons will secure the services of higher quality players like Yilmaz and Luc Castaignos, a proven striker is a must. With Holt linked to the club, the Hammers could have found their quality striker. One thing is for sure though 5 million seems way too much for the Norwich City skipper.

After his Euro 2012 heroic, and with the Hammers set to sue Brescia over former flair player Alessandro Diamanti; a move could be back on the cards for him, and it seems he would be interested in a move. The Italian forward told Moose of his love for West Ham, in a Demba Ba esque interview.

Meanwhile the Hammers are looking to strengthen the backline, with Spurs duo Sebastian Bassong, a constant mention from me on this very blog as well as William Gallas both players who are sure to strengthen the Irons as well as add vital experience to a brittle backline which currently has just the two players battling it out for the starting place.

The Twitter grumblings are suggesting the Hammers are set to sign Sunderland duo Kieran Richardson if they can fight off late interest from fellow Premier League new comers reading, the Hammers are expected to sign George McCartney for a third time as he comes back to the club he said he wish he never left. As well as links with Nathaniel Clyne from Crystal Palace who is available on a free after seeing out his contract the Hammers will hope to conclude deals very soon.

With the home kit released today many fans were left disappointed that a new player wasn’t their modelling it. But with many deals picking up the pace it won’t be long until we see a new player in a Claret and Blue shirt.

Exciting times indeed ladies and gentlemen, keep refreshing WHUFC.com for the latest news.

Come on you Irons!
