Guti idea?

|

West Ham fans were left excited as reports circulated the former Real Madrid star Guti is in talks with Sam Allardyce over a potential move.

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

The 35 year old is available on a free following his release by Beşiktaş in November 2011 after being deemed to surplus.

The news came from one of Guti’s representatives Barry O’Connor, who told The Sun: ‘West Ham will make a final decision before the next season starts. I cannot discuss what terms could be offered”

Guti, who represented Real Madrid over 500 times, having come through the Los Blancos youth set up picked up 15 trophies during his time at the Bernabeu.

Now he could end his career in England providing he can prove his fitness to Sam Allardyce as he looks to beef up his squad as the Hammers prepare for their return to the top flight of English football.

The former Real Madrid star who is known for his exquisite range of passing and skill started his career as a striker but was quickly changed to a midfielder because of his passing skills.

Now I think he would be a great signing if he can prove himself to be fit, even if big Sam chooses just to play him of the bench, if he could pick out that vital pass or pick up a few goals here and there surely signing him would pay off. One advantage is that as people age people say “He has lost his pace” with Guti however who was never really blessed with pace so that shouldn’t be a worry. So for me Big Sam has nothing to lose with this one if it goes ahead.

One player who looks set to join Jussi Jääskeläinen who joined earlier this week could be Mohamed Diame who saw out his Wigan Athletic contract and is said to be the best Bosman free around, report suggest that Sam Allardyce is so desperate to land his man that the West Ham board are willing to offer the French born Senegalese international 7 million pound in wages of his 3 year contract to fight off interest from other clubs.

If the Hammers can secure Diame as well as Guti I’m sure there will be many a happy Hammer as we embark on our Premier League adventure.

Come on you Irons!

Completely agree, Guti was a world class player and he can still do a job for us even at 35.

Hopes its not true, this old guy would be taking someone elses place in the squad. I think we will play 3 central midfielders in the prem, with Diame behind Noble and Nolan, or maybe alongside Noble with Nolan behind the striker, with Vaz Te and Elia, Jarvis or Taylor on the wings. In this case, Collison would be on the benxh, but I can see Guti taking his place there. I would much rather see Collison given the chance. This deal smells like Dyer, ljungberg, Bowyer, Bridge, all has beens on large wages playing out there careers with us. I would prefer us to focus on youth.

you do have a thing about Collison and as i said before Jack is good but Guti is world class and we need world class players for the new stadium. And i dont think the 2 Davids would be that silly as to have another sick note ect ect

Guti has a wealth of experience and would be ideal in our midfield, West Ham need to consolidate themselves as a premier League side and not be like a yo-yo club. If they can get 15 – 20 games out of him next season and he brings on the likes of Collison and Noble, like DiCanio did with Joe Cole, l think it will be money well spent………..COYI ‘><'
