Robert Green will hope to put his World Cup nightmares behind as he flies out to Poland after being called up in Roy Hodgson England squad for Euro 2012.

The West Ham stopper who is set to leave the Hammers in the summer will hope his last game for the Iron’s is a memorable one as he steps onto the home of English football, Wembley.

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

Green tweeted; “Delighted…but need to concentrate on the play-off final first and foremost.”

Green one of my favourite players will be a player sorely missed by the Hammers faithful and here is my top 3 Robert Green moments…

At 3: Green’s diving save to prevent Gareth Bales bending free kick at White Hart Lane last season: Now watching from my armchair at home, as I refuse to give Tottenham 50 odd quid of my money, the ball for all the money in the world was flying in to the roof of the net and to give Tottenham another win over West Ham. But Green had other ideas, finger tipping the ball over the bar to help secure a point at White Hart Lane.

At 2: Greens day at the Emirates: With West Ham struggling to avoid relegation, the Hammers were under siege in North London, wave after wave of Arsenal attacks were continually repelled by Robert Greens palms, legs. That day will forever be remember as the start of something special that season, and after Bobby Zamora’s lob as the Hammers became the first team to win at the Emirates.

At 1: All those penalty saves: Most memorably against Jermain Defoe at Upton Park in the last minute, a last minute save at Fratton Park from Benjani to secure another vital point. Robert Green is one of finest keepers around, despite that world famous “gaffe” that the media love to remind us about, we know how good Greeny is and we will miss him dearly if he leaves. And if god forbid Saturday goes to penalties we have can some confidence with him in goal.

So “Sign up Greeno sign up Greeno sign up”

Thanks for the memories.
