Second still up for grabs!!!

Call me naïve, but after watching the game against Brighton and how we performed I can’t help but feel like we’re getting second place. Southampton appear to be on the slide, and our season seems to be picking up again at the ideal time.

I know I know, it’s West Ham and they’ll only go and let us down when they’ve got our hopes up, but I really do believe that we can do this. We CAN still go up automatically, despite currently being 3 points behind Southampton.

It seems that Big Sam shares my optimism, saying the following after the Brighton match:

“Everything we did today was right; it was a total performance for 90 minutes. When Brighton did get in the game we snuffed them out.”

“We`re still in the race, the goal difference is only three but we have no margin for error. It`s got to be three wins and if someone slips up I hope we can take advantage.”

I really believe that that win will give the players the confidence and get maximum points from our final games of the season.

The crowd were also a massive, massive boost for the players on Saturday against Brighton, and Upton Park was the loudest I’ve heard it in a long while. I mean, even if the worst comes to the worst and we only make the play-offs, the performance showed that we can beat anyone when we play the right football and the players are fully focussed.

What does everyone else think? I seriously believe that we can do this. COME ON YOU IRONS!
