Throw them straight in Sam!

|

Tuesday night was a real Jekyll and Hyde moment in West Ham United’s season, with the delight at securing three top new signings but the humiliation of a 5-1 defeat to a very average Ipswich Town team brought everyone back to down to earth.

The away loss was tough to take as the Hammers had been on a decent run of form but defensive errors and a lack of potency up-front cost the East End club dear. But, there is no point throwing your toys out of the pram over one game. There is no way that Sam Allardyce was 100% focussed on the game with transfer deadline day in full swing and the players will also have had an eye on what was happening back at the training ground with regard to new arrivals.

Thankfully for everyone involved with the club, Mr Sulliavan and Mr Gold done the business and continued their loyal support of the club and manager by funding the signings of Nicky Maynard, Ravel Morrison and Ricardo Vaz Te; three attacking signings that will have a great effect on the side as we enter the business end of the season with the Hammers still sitting pretty at the top of the Championship.

As a result of the Ipswich game I would say to Big Sam, bring in the new signings immediately. Fitness should not be an issue for the players as they have played regular first team or reserve team football this season and by bringing them in; there would be decent replacements on the bench if they were to tire. The Millwall game is the biggest game of the season for the supporters and anything less than a victory will be seen as a failure, especially given their league position and form. But to be honest in heated local derbies such as this, form can be irrelevant and by playing the three new additions to the squad against our biggest rivals will give the players a real taste of what it means to play for West Ham United.

Poor performances all-round on Tuesday is the perfect excuse to give Maynard, Vaz Te and Morrison their debut’s in an attacking line-up to have a go at one of the leakiest defences in the division. The game will also be broadcasted live on Sky Sports on Saturday lunch time and with the world watching, some shrewd business could be on show at Upton Park at the Hammers destroy the Millwall minnows!

    Possible team for Millwall?

    Green
    Demel, Tomkins, Faye, McCarthy
Faubert, Noble, Nolan (because he is captain and dropping him shows weakness) Taylor
    Baldock and Maynard!

Gollivan saving the day with the transfers they made, do me a favour and pull the other one. They spent just over £3m on a right winger and a problem child who add nothing to the team. Another kid Dixon to play when ? and George John …

Sam’s marquee summer signing Nolan looked tidy at Newcastle because Pardew sat Barton behind him and deployed pace down the flanks. Here Sam plays five like for like midfielders at the same time. Faubert has no end product, Noble, Collison and Landsbury are equally alike whilst Diop, Nolan and Taylor have no pace to beat a man. Then throw in Cole, Piquionne and Carew and the whole set up going froward is devoid of any pace what so ever.

Gollivan spoke openly to the media about having money to spend and doing what was needed, well Vaz Te is a right winger, a fine signing but surely we needed a pacy left winger like Sordell ? someeone who would have been a future investment at £4m … instead all our eggs were after Jelavic or Rhodes for silly money. I think Maynard is a good signing, however we no options to change things in midfield where will he play ? wide left maybe ….

We have to rely on Sam now botching his way through to get us promoted instead of spending good money on investments for the future that would have taken us forward, balanced up the midfield and had us playing flowing attractive football

Wow you really have no idea what your talking about!

Yeah let’s get a new left winger to replace one of our most creative players in Taylor who when fit ALWAYS plays well!

I bet your one of those fans who never goes to watch so never really gets any insight to how the team really plays!

Do me a favour mate and support another club, either that or don’t judge everything on what you see on the highlights shows!

What we did this January was EXACTLY what we needed. Not to spend silly money but acquire some attacking players to get us through our rough goal scoring patch.

Seriously only fans like you can see there club TOP of the table and still moan!

    RIDICULOUS

  • Munky says:

Yep pretty much everything that Tom said. Hopefully Allardyce will steer us back to the prem for a footballing manager to take over when his contract runs out and the porn bros will get greedy and sell to someone with the means to invest heavily, wisely and quietly.

    • nathan says:

What is wrong with you people? you moan about big sam, who in a short time has steered us to top of the table with very little funds? yet you still moan? he has given us more points this season than all of last season or the season before. yet you still moan. we have the best defence in the league now and not the worst like the last two seasons. yet you still moan. we have signed players for the now and the future in Maynard, Vaz te, and morrison. george john could also prove handy this season and if we sign him in the prem next season. we need options which big sam has now given us.
give the man and his team a break, they are doing us proud 99.99% of the time.
