Should we snap up these Premier League fringe players?

|

Premier league squads are offering up their fringe players the question is should we be biting their hands off and bringing them in? My club of focus is Stoke who are offering up to five players in this window.

The need for a centre half at the club isn’t paramount but should a good back up become available we should be interested for sure, with ageing players like Faye in the squad surely big Sam should be looking at players for next season and beyond. Danny Collins of Stoke may not be young aged 31 but has experience in abundance in the Premier league and has made 12 caps for his country Wales, and he could be an option and the club are rumoured to have had a bid rejected for the 6ft centre half. Collins who has represented Sunderland and Stoke over 200 times is currently on loan at Ipswich could be an option for the Hammers in the short run and the long run. He has represented the tractor boys 16 times this season scoring 4 goals. I personally think a move for the player would be a wise call.

In midfield we need a player who can play that defence splitting ball for Baldock to chase down a bang in the back of the net is that player Tom Soares. He could be available on loan or for a cheap fee as Stoke look to get shot of the player. Soares is a former Crystal Palace graduate is still young at 25 years of age and could prove to be a decent signing for the Hammers as he would have appoint to prove and could add something different to the midfield should we receive an injury. He has appeared just 7 times for Stoke since joining in 2008. So would surely be available for less than a million pounds.

And finally what about a cheeky bid for Ricardo Fuller with Jonathan Walters and Peter Crouch ahead of him in the pecking order along with Kenwyne Jones and Cameron Jerome I can’t see him appearing much for the Potters I think he could be the skilful striker we need. I believe he would link up well with Baldock and Cole and could be a vital player. Fuller has always scored against us so it’s about time he scored for us at the Academy of Football.

So should we raid Stoke? I can’t see any harm in a fee bids going in as we could bring in some good experienced players for a relatively low fee.

  • Danny Collins has played left back for us and to be frank ,he is crap there but he might do a job in the middle for you(not fit to lace Fayes boots).
I like Tom Soares, and out of the five we have left to sell he is the best.Never given a chance by TP but he has talent…Blades are the only team to make an enquiry so far.
Ric is a terrace legend in Stoke, but his cards have been marked since about this time last year. He’s a match winner,by no means a prolific scorer. We like him because he can turn a match and produce the odd flash of brilliance. For me he is finnished ,sad but true.Hull,Cardiff and Swansea are reportidly interested….who knows he might be re-juvinated in a new club you never know.I’ll be sad when he goes, but every club needs evolution don’t they ;-D .If we land another striker, then he is first out,Hull reportidly are in pole position for him with a loan and buy deal.
