RUMOUR MILL:Barcelona striker interesting West Ham

|

The East London version of Barcelona, have been linked with Barca B striker Jonathan Soriano. The 26 year old Spanish forward has been linked with a move to England through a number of clubs such as QPR and Blackburn Rovers but it has emerged that West Ham are eager to sign the promising striker.

All I can say about this relatively unknown forward is that his stats are in fact very good. Since 2009 Soriano has scored 57 goals in 81 appearances for Barcelona B which is a better record than all of our current strikers (and most of Europe’s top marksman).

He also has International experience with the Spanish side at Under; 17, 19, 20 and 21 level. With impressive scoring records for each level including 18 goals in 15 games for the under 17’s and 8 goals in 4 games for the under 21’s Soriano seems to me like a player we should be looking at.

However, although Soriano has been reported saying that he is interested in a move away from his current club and his contract will not be renewed in the summer regardless of how he plays so he is interested in a move away now, it looks like he is set to sign for Benfica where he would rejoin his former team-mate Nolito in Lisbon.

Well, yet again it looks as if our attempts to sign a striker will not work but yet again I am pleased with the direction that our signings are going. Young and promising players are the type we should be looking to bring in. Allardyce seems to be livening up his act and it seems to me like he is trying to do some decent business.

What is the point of being linked with players if we don’t actually sign anyone?

So much for doing our business early in the window.

Could it all be smoke and mirrors by G&S, just like the bluenoses warned us? Apparently upping our bid by 500k after Rhodes scores 5 in front of a dozen scouts hardly smacks of desperation to sign him…

punkrock your right about the 2 Davids they have a art for buying nothing. They said Rhodes was there man and told the world hopeing someone else would buy him and that hasent happend and it makes them look like 2 skin flints. The way things or going unless there freebies we will get no one

trouble is as soon as we mention someone we are interested in in the media some other club comes in for them anyway, be better of keeping who we are after under wraps cos we know them orrible spuds a be waiting to knick em from under our noses. coyi!

The davids and big sam can try as hard as they like – the problem is, huddersfield dont want to sell rhodes so they cant force them! theyve made a perfectly reasonable offer of 4.5mil! what more do you want.

      That doesn’t seem to matter when clubs coming sniffing around the Rio’s, Johnson’s, Cole’s, Defoe’s, Kanoute’s, Carrick’s, Parker’s etc

Come to think of it, why do we always seem to let players go for less than their market value but clubs like Sunderland and Newcastle can get inflated prices for average players? (Carroll, Bent, Henderson etc)
