|

West Ham have been boosted in their reported pursuit of Yannick Sagbo after the Evian striker admitted a move to Upton Park would be ‘ideal’.

Scouts of Sam Allardyce’s Championship promotion contenders are said to have watched the £2million-rated Benin international in French Cup action at the weekend.

And now Sagbo, who is a half-brother of West Ham defender Guy Demel, has indicated he would relish a move to England.

The 22-year-old told Sky Sports: “Joining West Ham would be ideal for me.

“I love the Premier League, even though West Ham are in the Championship, which is also a top league.

“I want to be part of a team who will make progress. But nothing is done yet, so I am happy where I am.

“But I would love the opportunity to play in England in my career.”
