It’s the January transfer window and things are really heating up! West Ham are being linked with numerous players including a fair few strikers.
The likes of Nicky Maynard and Jordan Rhodes have been the talk of Upton Park in recent days but there is one player I personally would like to hear more people talking about; Billy Sharp.
His stats I feel speak for themselves, 40 goals in 80 appearances in a Doncaster Rovers shirt is unbelievable especially considering that his side are not exactly world beaters.
At a time where many people would have expected Sharp to be lets say, distracted due to his son’s tragic eath earlier in the season 10 goals in 18 appearances so far this season is outstanding.
Not only is Sharp one of the greatest examples of a true professional, he is also a very talented player and at only 25 years old would be not only a signing for this season but also a superb investment.
And no I’m not saying that I don’t want Maynard or Rhodes because frankly they are both excellent players. I just believe that we should pay more attention to Sharp due to not only his good looking stats and terrific play but also the example he sets to many young players and his professionalism.
