Keep the Faith

The Hammers lack of activity this transfer period is not as large an issue as West Ham fans like to make out. West Ham are currently top of the Championship table by three points, with a very good defensive record, despite having constant injury woes, so it’s not yet time to panic.

Two stories this week have linked West Ham to prolific Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic, and more recently Bosnian international Zlatan Muslimovic. Most of the fans will not have heard of either of these players until they saw it flash up on Sky Sports News, and the latter of the two is certainly a mysterious one.

Jelavic has a very impressive goal scoring record, 36 goals in 55 apps for Rangers, and if the Hammers could nab him for a suitable fee it could prove to be a worthwhile signing. He certainly has the potential to end West Ham’s inability to score from open play.

On the contrary if West Ham are seriously considering a move for Muslimovic then they may as well bring back Benni McCarthy. Now 30 years old this baron striker has never settled down with any club he has been at (all ten of them, albeit most on loan), he has a very average goal scoring record and has recently had unsuccessful trials at Sunderland and Rangers. So, thanks but no thanks, Muslimovic.

‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ is the message to Hammers fans. West Ham have an experienced manager, a good team, are currently top of the Championship, and most importantly of all have fantastic support. The current squad have got the Irons to the top of table so far, so who’s to say they can’t keep them there?

    what a strange item.
dont you agree that two of our strikers have gone completly off the boil? cole should be scoring goals for fun in this league.can you imagine how many david cross would have had by now?
we need a clinical finisher to give everyone a lift and keep the other strikers on their toes
and able to do it in the premier league.
you improve the team when its doing well ie now
not when things become a struggle.
we have no option but to get out of this league
    at the first attempt.
its not about keeping the faith its about being bold and act.
the purists will have to keep the faith we should be romping away with it not hoping things come right at the end.
    spend now on quality.
from somebody who has put in a 39 year stint.

    Totally Agree with Geoff ,

Think we maybe capable of winning the league without any other additions . But We must sign a Striker , Cole should definitely be scoring goals for fun in this league . My thinking is if the ball was played to Coles feet more then he would well be in double figures by now .

Its not the strikers you should be blaming its the dross behind them apart from noble no service from the wide or so called
Wide players has been useless to say the least I you ain’t got the service what do you want cole and baldock to do feeding of scrapes every week faubert can’t beat the first player or he over hits his crosses or allerdyce plays with 4 central midfielders in there which is no good no fault of his own allerdyce that they players have been injured granted I’ll give him that but not even looked play getting proper out n out wingers in then wants to blame the strikers I go week in week out and every one says the same if our defence wasn’t so good we wouldn’t be up there the midfield has been poor if Nolan don’t score goals he don’t bring nothing else to the side our best central midfielders in my eyes have been noble n diop and that’s not just me that says that
