Bright Future Looming?

|

It took the grand total of 27 games but we’ve finally reached the summit of the Football League; 19 games to go and we’re probably around 14/15 wins away from securing a return to the Promised Land.

Coupled with this is the fact that the two best prospects to graduate from our famed academy in Collison and Tomkins have signed new deals and will form the basis of a youthful and hungry spine. I have to ask…is the future actually looking bright for us long suffering Irons fans? Of course it’s all dependant on promotion and whilst we have every right to be confident of it; it’s by no means a forgone conclusion.

Assuming however we do secure that much coveted top two finish I believe we can be optimistic of a bright future. We’ve always been a club capable of attracting quality players. In recent years the likes of Benayoun, Bellamy, Ashton and Parker have all signed on the dotted line. So provided we’re promoted I believe Sam would have the capabilities to build a squad of real quality that could over-take a lot of the dross in the Premier League.

Having watched the big league purely from a spectator’s stand point this season I must say the quality has dipped; teams that were quite strong like Villa and Everton suddenly look much weaker this could even extend to Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all of whom look distinctly average these days. And then there are the likes of Bolton, Wolves, Blackburn and Stoke all of whom have either stood still or gone backwards; in my humble opinion next season (provided we’re promoted of course) there’s nothing to fear.

I also believe that in Sam Allardyce we do have the right man in charge to take us forward. Look at the two clubs who dispensed of his services…Newcastle got relegated and Blackburn in all probability will be relegated. His style and methods may not be to everyone’s liking but Sam does know how to get results; I could never see a side managed by Sam finishing in the bottom 3.

Without sounding too conceited/arrogant West Ham is a club with a lot more potential than the vast majority of clubs within the Premier League…we only have to look down the road at another club within London that has similar sized attendances to ourselves have gone on to achieve to inspire us.

Being a London club (which just makes it so much easier to attract players) with one of the largest fan-base’s in the land, a youth system which consistently churns out quality; coupled with a manager who took the unfashionable Bolton Wanderers to a League Cup final and a 6th placed finish…means the future could be very bright indeed… provided we’re promoted of course.

    Agreed!
A question to you – Why did Harry get paid £300,00 for selling Rio ?
At the time I nearly through the towel in for WHFC and to think that all the time some who says he can’t read – spell – write or add up was stashing away what was then a lot o dosh telling us its a pity that Roi’s going but the club needs the money.

So tell me what you think about Rosie’s keeper!

Big Sam is not the right man to manage West Ham. Year in Year out I have watched his teams play at Upton Park and I do not care for his type of football, or is it rugby. The man has stated himself he does not know how to play football the right way, well proper West Ham Supporters want to watch football played the right way, so get out of our club. DI CANIO FOR MANAGER. Winning means nothing if the supporters do not believe on how the team are winning. How do I know West Ham fans do not believe in Sam, the noise level at home games, or the lack of it.
