The goal for the season is automatic promotion, but with a keen eye on sustainability, as an immediate relegation might flat line the club both financially and literally. West Ham have signed defender George John on a two month loan with a chance to make the deal permanent if John impresses the club’s staff. I hope he turns out to be a real find, as we could certainly use the depth in defence.

Looking at the club, there seems to be a healthy mix of seasoned veterans, promising youngsters, and club mainstays such as Noble, Tomkins, and Collison. Looking at the activity in the transfer market, it’d be nice to see us bring in someone who has proven they can score goals at this level, as most of the players linked to the club are players on the young side with apparently loads of technical ability and flair to add some creativity on the flanks or behind the striker. We have had several failed bids for players at this point, and it’d be nice if we could land a few that could really aid our promotion. I hope that John can really make the switch from the MLS to the Championship and I hope Wolves enjoy Piquionne.
